Description
The Skatalites, SKA Authentic from Studio 1. Their first release, 1964. West Indies Records Limited, Kingston, Jamaica, JBL 1112.
This jacket is really nice. No ring wear on the front, slight on the back. Little/no edge and corner wear but there is a 3" seam split on the bottom and a 3" seam split on the top. Covers that are 54 years old are fragile in the seam area and this one is no exception. Without the splits, VG+ so you be the judge. The vinyl has sign of use on both sides but has good sheen retention. Scuffs and scratches are apparent. The quality of play is affected with some noise in places. VG.
I use the Goldmine standard only as a guide. There are too many conflicting variables and too much subjectivity to adhere strictly to any one grading standard. I rely on my descriptions for vinyl along with photos for covers etc. I will provide a grade but final decisions on condition are up to the buyer.
Vinyl is lightly cleaned before shipping, you will want to inspect and clean to your standards.
Shipment to lower 48 is by USPS, packaged well in record-designed boxes. I will combine shipping up to four records in one box.
