Description
~~ S. J. C. POWELL / CELESTIAL MADNESS ~~
Extremely Rare, Original Australian pressing from 1975.
*****
This album is a hidden treasure, an almost unknown gem from the
Australian progressive scene.
It has an almost cult following, sought after around the globe.
This is a ten out of ten , space age, solid progressive LP with awesome
melodies, wonderful lyrics and sensational guitar and
keyboard interplay.
Every track is fantastic, I do not own any other music that I
could say that about ...
It is a timeless classic .. way ahead of it's time.
So original .. and the voice and talent of the artist Steve Powell
is outstanding.
A shame that such talent has gone virtually unrecognised.
To get a release on a major label, the guys at Albert Productions must
have sensed the potential in this, but like in many other sadly similar
cases, without any promotion they just fade away.
This artist was at Alberts at the same time, and working along with other
Aussie greats, like AC/DC, The Easybeats, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs,
John Paul Young, The Ted Mulry Gang plus others.
Super Rare and a must have for any serious OZ collection.
Plus it sounds .. and is so great!
And so, so unique!
The seemingly high starting price is because, another one was
sold on ebay earlier this year for $272.
Plus a couple of years back I saw one on the internet that had
been sold overseas for a ridiculous amount of money ....
Condition is excellent, the cover is in almost perfect condition ..
There is the remnants of an inscription/signing by the the artist,
and a few tiny age spots in that vicinity.
The spine is clear and fully readable, I can see one tiny scratch on
the smooth rim of the album, this does not affect play.
Please refer to actual photos as they are an important part of
the description.
Questions welcome.
