RODRIGUEZ-COMING FROM REALITY(1971)/SUSSEX(US)/SXBS7012 NM-/NM+(+)
I received this record as an obvious delete/reseal with minor damage to the "3D" flip back cover...that is, a delete that was stripped of it's original factory shrink wrap (probably due to stickers and other record store of-the-day advertising) and resealed by the record distributor, destined for the delete bin...as the following description shows, this copy surely languished in a pile/storage box of similar albums for decades before being resealed.
The 3D flip back cover shows the following defects(described in detail), consisting of creasing and a surface dent with some light edge wear, and the beginning of a very small tear in one spot.
Because of the numerous defects, I removed the shrink after I scanned it.
If you look closely at the scan, you can see one crease running from his left shoulder (1), under his chin down to his right elbow at the chair. The surface dent (2) is beside the right shoulder and the edge damage (3) can be seen along the same shoulder and both sides of his head.
Another crease (4) runs from the piece of glass he's holding to where the right door frame touches the chair...this is also where the small tear (5) is.
There are some other creases along both vertical edges and across the top right corner that do not show in the scan.
After taking off the shrink, I also noticed the start of a split on the bottom edge as well as some medium/heavy wear on both vertical edges.
The is in almost pristine condition, very (very) close to brand new....there are less than a handful (2 or 3) of very hard to see scuffs...it plays as brand new, a definite 9.9 of 10!
I used a SYSTEMDEK IIX w/PROFILE ARM (GRADO GOLD @ 1.5g) to grade it.
With original inner sleeve and lyric insert...insert has 2 creases on lower left/right corner (depending which side you are looking at).
Color differences between the three pics is because two are photos (flash and no flash), the other is a scan.
This is an original 1971 US press with the die-cut, "3D" fold-over-flap (flip back) cover on the SUSSEX label (distributed by Buddah Records).
