Description

Wow! First time I had an LP made in Pakistan, I'd guess circa '70 or so...in fact it says on the cover "In your hands is the first ever stereo long playing album recorded and manufactured in Pakistan". LP is titled "Sound Of The Silhouettes" and is east-meets west electric sitar led mix of rock and raga moves, some originals and some versions of local melodies. Sounds like the instrumental music you hear in '60s B-movies of the hippie era, electric sitar, vibraphone, organ, twangy guitar melodic magic carpet ride sounds. "We present to you a top, pop local group, The Silhouettes" and it has a cool looking laminated cover as well with 12 tracks issued on the Arokey Chemical Industries label # ACI.S-1. No doubt impossible to find and a gas for fans of B-movie raga rock by guys who can also really play good. VG++/VG++ plays great, a few light creases & small line tear on back cover, a few harmless scuffs. Doubt I'll see this one again! I'm guessing the date by the sound and the look of the item, could be a bit earlier or later.
