“SILENT RUNNING” SOUNDTRACK LP (E) SIGNED BY SPECIAL EFFECTS GURU DOUGLAS TRUMBULL W/COA!
1972’s “Silent Running” was an environmentally-themed science fiction film starring Bruce Dern that is now considered to be far ahead of its time. It was directed by special effects wizard, Douglas Trumbull, who created the spectacular Jupiter sequence in Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey.” This album features music by Peter Shickele, better known for his comedy albums as P.D.Q. Bach, as well as two songs sung by Joan Baez, the title song and “Rejoice for the Sun.” There is minor edge wear at the top of the album cover and age wear on the LP sleeve. The LP itself is Green Vinyl and in excellent condition. Also included is a clipping from the LA Times on Mr. Trumbull. The album was signed in silver Sharpie by the late director at a screening of the film at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, Ca. under the auspices of the long-running Laemmle Classics series. The album comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
