A truly impressive copy of this seldom seen and much sought after 1975 prog rock original, on the Swedish label, stereo RGLP 80

The appearance of the flat, thick vinyl is excellent (EX). Gleaming vinyl with jet black lacquering and in normal daylight no obvious marks or blemishes at all. With close scrutiny and under an intense light just a few faint wispy hairlines and very,very light paper scuffs come into view on each side of the vinyl along with a slightly more obvious (you still have to look closely under a bright light to see it) 3cm pencil thin surface mark on side 1, but there is nothing "feelable" or obviously below the surface here - these wispy hairlines and very,very light scuff marks appear to be purely superficial.

The labels are excellent plus (EX+). Beautiful 1st press oranget matt textured labels with no unwanted writing or marks and all text and the "ROYAL" logo remaining perfectly intact. If it wasn't for the fact that a couple of very light, small spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label are just detectable under a bright light, I would grade the labels as "near mint". 

The condition of the laminated outer sleeve is excellent (EX). This is a very fragile sleeve using thin cardboard and prone to ring wear and creasing - it is rare to find one in as good a condition as this. The top and bottom edges remain firm though there is 1-2cm of mild scuffing either end of the bottom edge and on the top edge 1cm of mild scuffing at either end and a 2cm mild scuff in the middle. Similarly the spine is firm and nicely intact with just x4 very small nicks" towards the top of the spine - all writing remains perfectly legible. Each corner is a nicely defined right angle with just a little rubbing on each. The only other minor blemish is just the merest hint of some ring wear on the front side...nothing really. Apart from these very minor aberrations the condition of the outer sleeve is a solid excellent, with the front side art work and colouring remaining beautifully vibrant and clear and all photos and text on the reverse side near perfect. The opening sides are also excellent with no fraying. Lovely!

Finally, the quality of the audio is overall excellent (EX). Brilliant tone and clarity with some great tracks here accompanied by impressive guitar licks. There are no skips, jumps, or repeats and no nasty clicks. There is some mild crackle at the very beginning of side 1 (prior to the beginning of track 1), some occasional and very mild background crackle at the beginning of side 2, during some of the interludes and at the beginning (and during) track 3 on side 2, and I also noticed x2 very light clicks at the beginning of track 3, side 2, and a single very light click towards the beginning and towards the end of track 4, side 2. These are all minor and do little to impinge upon the overall excellent stereo sound quality with every track making for a great listen.

Comes with original lyric inner sleeve, with a 1cm split at the top of each of the side seams and a further 1cm split in the middle of the bottom edge, but nonetheless still in excellent, fully functional condition with barely and creasing, no age discoluration, and no unwanted writing or doodles. Note that I always post the record in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.

In summary an excellent copy of this seldom seen and increasingly sought after 1975 original 1st press Swedish prog rock gem - a worthy addition to any serious prog rock vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard "crucifix" style mailer along with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
