Description

Received this LP from Barry Jones the lead singer and writer of Lala Lapla. The LP has been played one, there are some very small marks on the cover but overall its is in very good condition.

Some history

The Album

The Album was recorded in March 1979 at Chaple Lane Studios, Hereford. The sound engineer was Paul Cobbold and the cover design was painted by Les Williams. The original recording has been digitally enhanced by Lenny Taylor and Barry Jones was the producer.

Biography of Lala Lapla

The Beginning

Formed in Cardiff in 1974 with the following line up:-

Barry Jones (Vocals & Keyboards)
Keith Almond (Guitar)
Mike Gregory (Drums)
Lawrence Lee (Sax)
Howard Jones (Bass)
Steve Davies (Guitar)

All change

Three members left to relocate to Oswestry, Shropshire and Barry, Keith and Mike were joined by:-

Robbie Hannan (Keyboards)
Martin Roberts (Bass)

However after a short time Mike left and

Gerry Owen (Drums) joined.

All change again

And this time Barry and Keith left to go back to Ellesmere, Shropshire and the band continued with various band members which include:- Bruce Dummond (Guitar), Roger Gerard (Bass), Paul Timms (Drums), Paul Houldey (Drums), Colin Jarman (Keyboards).
