Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. Here is a highly collectible surviving copy in glorious MONO on the old RCA VICTOR label...it's categorically an antique platter of the very first ELVIS PRESLEY album, from 1956 ...

The bold mono production has a deep and rich sound - far superior we think to the stereo version...

By the spring of 1956, rock 'n' roll sensation Elvis Presley is fast becoming a national phenomenon. His first single for RCA records, "Heartbreak Hotel," is number one on the charts, and plans are in the works for his movie debut. Everywhere Presley performs, his sultry looks, swinging hips, and dynamic vocal style drive teenage listeners wild. His ability to perform music influenced by black rhythm and blues for a white audience brings this music to the growing postwar "Baby Boom" generation. Elvis Presley is essential to rock 'n' roll history and in a wider context to the understanding of the youth culture of the late 1950s. In many ways Elvis went far beyond just being a popular artist. He was worshiped by millions of teenagers. Very few artists ever attain that status. Only Frank Sinatra in the 1940's and The Beatles in the 1960's would equal Elvis in popularity.
On Elvis' first album his voice sounds fantastic throughout though bathed in that lovely echo you get on a lot of 50s records. The album reached into many types of music for its songs but all were interpreted and transferred to a rock setting. Fan favorites are the R&B hits 'I Got A Woman' and 'Money Honey' which are removed from their roots and become all out rockers. 'Blue Suede Shoes' and 'Tutti Frutti' were hits of the day and Elvis mainly copied what was popular. Other fans tend to prefer the Little Richard version but feel sorry for Carl Perkins as Elvis gives a classic performance of his biggest hit. this debut album does have is a solid track listing that shows off all of Presley's influences, from country to blues to gospel all blending together to form that just-then burgeoning new creature called rock & roll. And oh boy, could this boy rock & roll. He was the King of Rock & Roll. And we don't think anyone of any respectability, could say otherwise.

    Blue Suede Shoes
    I'm Counting On You
    I Got A Woman
    One-Sided Love Affair
    I Love You Because
    Just Because
    Tutti Frutti
    Tryin' To Get To You
I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry (Over You)
    I'll Never Let You Go
    Blue Moon
    Money Honey
