SAX 2512 and SAX 2513

GEORGE SZELL & THE CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA

With Adele Addison, Jane Hobson, Richard Lewis, Donald Bell: The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Robert Shaw Director

Extremely rare original 1962 Columbia Stereo Set

Blue/Silver labels.

With MINT sets costing £3000 this could be a bargain.

Please note the records have not been vacuum cleaned and no cleaning fluid has been used, I would prefer to let the buyer of this rare set choose which method they will use, as described there is background crackle and some pops but this will be significantly improved with proper cleaning.

SAX 2512

BEETHOVEN: Choral Symphony 1st,2nd,3rd movts.

MATRIX

Side 1:- YAX  1027-3     1R

Side 2:- YAX 1028-1     1R

VINYL: VG to VG+

The vinyl looks nearly Ex at a glance, this is a nice gloss/sheen to it, some light marks and hairlines but nothing I could feel or that would cause problem on playback. Record was fully test played and sounds fantastic with a stunning audio tone as would be expected from this pressing, however please note that there is background crackle and the occasional pop (two light ticks at one point), this is obviously nore noticeable in quieter parts but as stated this has not been vacuum cleaned and no cleaning fluid has been used and the background noise would be significantly reduced if properly cleaned, the sound quality is otherwise fantastic. Comes with anti-static sleeve.

COVER:- VG-

Original 'Patent Pending' Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. The cover has some staining on the opening edge and a small tear/damage to the bottom right corner, otherwise there is 'SE' written on the front near top right (could be removed) and there is light ageing and handling wear as would be expected, the spine is fully readable. SEE PICS for details.

SAX 2513

BEETHOVEN: Choral Symphony: finale

WAGNER: Die Meistersinger-Prelude: Tristan und Isolde: Prelude and Liebestod

MATRIX

Side 1:- YAX 1029-2     2R

Side 2:- YAX 1030-6     1G

VINYL:- VG to VG+

This is very much in the same condition as SAX 2512 but is slightly better, again there are some light marks/hairlines but nothing feelable, there is a good gloss and the playback is fantastic apart from the crackle and some pops, this one is perhaps slightly better than 2512. Again I have not vacuum cleaned or used cleaning fluid to improve the sound, this is for the buyer to choose and can gaurantee that this will sound even better.Comes with anti-static sleeve.

COVER:- VG

Original 'Patent Pending' Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. Again this is slightly better than the cover for the SAX 2512, there is also some staining to the bottom but there is less of it although there is a small split at the bottom right edge, agaon the spine is fully readable. SEE PICS
