Description
Legendary record including the only two solo records by the mysterious psych figure Craig Smith a.k.a. Satya Sai Maitreya Kali. These two albums were recorded by Smith in the early '70s after he began experimenting with drugs and traveled extensively in Asia. Smith might be better known for his folk music, which he performed on the Andy Williams Show in the '60s, or his former band The Penny Arkade which took off thanks to a friendship with Michael Nesmith of The Monkees. Smith's life story is chronicled in the 2016 book by Mike Stax entitled Swim Through the Darkness: My Search for Mike Smith and the Mystery of Maitreya Kali.
The condition of this 2xLP is overall excellent, especially given its rarity. The sleeve has some very minor blemishes, just slight staining on the white side. The inserts include a brochure, poster, and lyric book- all of which appear to never have been opened until now (some tackiness when I pulled them open). The records looks great as well, pretty much NM except for some slight surface marks that should not affect play.
