SAMADHI 's/t' LP (Italy, Vinyl Magic, Catalogue #VMLP 124) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited Vinyl Magic label LP edition (edition of 500 copies only) of mega-rare album from 1974 by Italian progressive rock band Samadhi (post-Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno and others.) Top shelf Italian progressive rock!

'A sort of supergroup, as most of their members came from well-known bands, Samadhi were formed after the split of Raccomandate Ricevuta Ritorno by singer Regoli and guitarist Civitenga, along with the keyboard player Sabatini (from Free Love and Kaleidon), Aldo Bellanova from Teoremi on bass and Ruggero Stefani (L'Uouvo di Colombo), and two other members. The album, from 1974 and their only record released mixes very good prog influences with some jazz and even pop, the best of the seven tracks being the closing L'Ultima Spiaggia with religious text. The beautiful lyrics were written by poet Enrico Lazzareschi. New vinyl reissue with the original artwork, label replicas and remastered sound.'
'This is one of the Italian 'super groups', being a combination of previous members from Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno (Regoli and Civitenga), I Teoremi (Bellanova) and L'Uovo Di Colombo (Stefani). Their combined efforts were lighter in spirit than one would have expected. This is in fact an album of marvellous songwriting, veering between the classic old pop music tradition and jazzy progressive rock. "Un Uomo Stanco" and "Fantasia" were happy songs with a sunny Mediterranean feel, high-pitched lead vocals, fine vocal harmonies, lots of keyboards, laced with guitars and phased drums. These and most other tracks had great arrangements for strings and brass. "Un Milione D'Anni Fa" even had the bassoon playing an important role. "Passagio Di Via Arpino", the only instrumental track, is top class European jazzy progressive where funky electric piano alternates with heavy brass, rounded off with a solid electric guitar solo.
