Description
SAM RIVERS - Contours - BLUE NOTE BLP 4206 - Original US first pressing Liberty pressing with New York labels. Rudy Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, May 21, 1965.
Personnel include Freddie Hubbard, Trumpet; Sam Rivers, Tenor, Soprano and Flute; Herbie Hancock, Piano, Ron Carter, Bass and Joe Chambers on Drums.
Recorded on May 21, 1965, but not released until January 1967 after Blue Note's sale to Liberty. Earliest pressings used stocked New York USA labels, but did not have the Plastylite "ear" stamp, so are still considered Liberty pressings.
Record Grading:
VINYL visual grading VG++ NO Scratches, NO hairlines, High Luster; VAN GELDER stamped on both sides. No Plastylite "P" (the "ear") symbol in the dead wax.
