A Critics View
The Stereo Record Guide Volume 2 gave a maximum three star grading. “The recording is one of E.M.I.’s best vintage with a wide, warm acoustic, not quite such a high frequency range as the best from Decca but brilliant and clean nonetheless. The performances are equally sympathetic with alert playing from the orchestra, and intelligent, unwilful interpretations from Rodzinski.”
Record Condition (Play graded throughout)
Prior to playing, the record was cleaned on my Moth Record Cleaning Machine. Playback equipment comprised a Thorens TD160, Linn Basik LVX Arm with Audio Technica AT-95E Cartridge.
The record was examined in bright sunlight. There is a 2-3 cm scratch on track 1 and various light marks on both sides.
The sleeve has some discouloration to the rear and has wear along the bottom edge and to the opening corners and a stain at the top right hand corner.
Side 1
There are four repetitive ticks at the start and some background noise during quieter passages. The scratch mentioned earlier causes intermittent and repetitive ticks for about four and a half minutes.
Side 2
Some occasional background noise during quieter passages. Overall the sound quality for both sides is excellent. Analogue recording at it’s best.

Noting the faults that I have listed above, if you find that the record is not as described and you are not entirely happy with your purchase, I offer a full refund of the purchase price plus your initial postage charges. I do ask that you pay the postal charges to return the record to me. The record will be supplied with a new Anti-Static (Nagaoka style) inner sleeve, inner sleeve and a PVC protective outer sleeve
