“Rush” 1974 Canadian pressing Moon Records MN 100. NO Reserve Auction
- The story of Rush’s first album on Moon Records has already been digested by countless numbers of Rush fans worldwide, but since it such a prestigious Rush collectible it bears repeating here.
“The band and its management formed their own company, Moon Records, and released the first Rush LP album in Canada. Only 3,500 copies of the original Moon Records LP (catalog number MN-100) were pressed. The first version of the LP has a cream-colored label with a blue Moon Records logo and black type. The album was soon picked up by WMMS, a radio station in Cleveland, Ohio. Donna Halper, a DJ working at the station, selected "Working Man" for her regular play list. Every time the song was played the station received phone calls asking where to buy the record. Copies of the Moon Records album were imported to the Cleveland area and quickly sold out.
The record's popularity in Cleveland quickly led to the re-release of the album by Mercury Records.”*

It will soon become the only hard format left, that is still being produced. It is now and likely will continue to be, the only format that matters very much for collectability.

Cover:
The following imperfections are found on the cover. (Nothing too significant)
-As can be seen in the photo the cover looks quite good. It has many small patches of faint graying in the white areas of the cover and dots (many of which are near pinhead sized) of color loss in the colored areas of the cover, on the front and back, but faint enough that they don’t detract too much from the overall appearance.
- A previous owner’s name has been written on the front cover underneath “Rush” in small letters in blue pen, which can be seen in the photo.
-The top outer edge and bottom outer edge have a few issues, that are again not too significant. Small amount of laminate is flaking slightly in the bottom left outer edge in an area about 3 inches long: just on the outer part. Same thing in the top let outer edge but not as much or quite as long.
-There is a flap of loose laminate about 1 centimeter long in the top outer edge.
-Tiny piece of laminate missing, about 4 millimeters square in the bottom left corner, partly on spine and partly on front.
Vinyl:The disc is covered in paper slide marks and shallow needle marks on both sides. Totally covered. Only one needle mark is deep enough to feel with a finger nail and the album plays quite decently. No skips. Except for a certain percentage of the albums running time, surface static and clicks and pops are well below the volume of the music and don’t detract significantly from the enjoyment of the album. If surface noise that were greater than the volume of the music were a 10 out of 10 in severity, we estimate the severity on this disc, for most of its playing time to be a 1 or 2 or so out of 10. For a minute or so in the softer songs Here Again & Before and After this figure increases to a 3 or 4.

Ontario such as Kitchener or Toronto. The next category (11.00) is further in Ontario to cities like Ottawa and some of Quebec ie: Montreal. The next category (13.00) is far Quebec, The Maritimes excluding Newfoundland, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and the (15.00) high end is Alberta, BC, the Far North and Newfoundland.

7. I live in Canada but close enough to the USA border to mail to USA destinations and overseas from the USA, to take advantage of Media rate in USA and lower costs to mail overseas. It is very difficult and expensive to go over the border for just one or two items: I incur gas expense and fees for crossing the border for commercial purposes. The fewer the trips I have to make the better, which is why prompt payment is so much appreciated...............
