ULTRA RARE LP: AFRTS RL 48-1
Side 1: selections from ROLLING STONES – Sticky Fingers.
Side 2: selections from PROCOL HARUM – Broken Barricades.
See photos for track listings. Date stamped on the label June 2, 1971. CAN YOU THINK OF A RARER EXAMPLE OF THE STONES’ CLASSIC ALBUM? I CAN’T! Condition: Looks VG+. Pen mark on the label. Scuffs, needle drags. This record was played a lot. The first cuts on each side have the most surface noise. After that, it improves considerably. It runs from VG to VG++.
AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio & Television Services) records are EXTREMELY RARE. They were pressed in limited quantities on custom labels for their stations at military installations around the globe. In absolute numbers, they pressed very few copies which explain why they are difficult to find. Most were issued without covers and each LP typically featured one side each from two different artists because of storage limitations at most stations. Sometime the pairing of the two artists is almost bizarre.
AFRTS albums are typically sought by collectors because of their extreme rarity and their unique labels. Don’t expect the vinyl to be in great condition because the records were often played and handled in less than ideal conditions. However, most of the discs that I am offering play with acceptable levels of surface noise considering the history of the discs. IF PLAYING CONDITION IS CRITICAL IN YOUR DECISION MAKING, YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT!
Talk about rare! I bought these from a former AFRTS staff member stationed in Korea 25 years ago. I haven't seen this disc for sale since then! It’s time to make them available to collectors who will cherish such rare and interesting artifacts.

I have decided to part with the albums because they have been sitting on a shelf for too long.
