Condition: VG++ (EX) Vinyl and Cover. Tested on both sides and plays very well with strong fidelity. Includes original inner sleeve with faces that were later censored. Cover is solid with great color and no splits, and includes a promo stamp, promo sticker, and a hype sticker on front. This album was a gift from a DJ at Boston radio station WBCN.
Some Girls is the 16th American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released on 9 June 1978 on Rolling Stones Records. It was the first album to feature guitarist Ronnie Wood as a full-time member; Wood had contributed to some tracks on the band's prior two albums, It's Only Rock 'n Roll (1974) and Black and Blue (1976). Notable contributions to the album also come from blues harmonica player Sugar Blue on "Miss You" and the title track.
Despite controversy surrounding its cover artwork and lyrical content, Some Girls was a commercial success, peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 1 on the US Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart. It became the band's top-selling album in the US, having been certified by the RIAA for selling six million copies sold by 2000. Several hit singles emerged from the album which would become rock radio staples for decades, including "Beast of Burden" (US No. 8), "Shattered" (US No. 31), "Respectable" (UK No. 23), highlighted by "Miss You", which reached No. 1 in the US and No. 3 in the UK.
t became the only Rolling Stones album to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category. Retrospectively, it has continued to receive acclaim, with many commending the band's ability to blend contemporary music trends with their older signature style. Considered one of the band's finest records, Rolling Stone has included Some Girls in their lists of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The album cover for Some Girls was conceived and designed by Peter Corriston. An elaborate die-cut design, with the colours on the sleeves varying in different markets, it featured the Rolling Stones' faces alongside those of select female celebrities inserted into a copy of an old Valmor Products Corporation advertisement. The cover design was challenged legally when Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (representing her mother Judy Garland), Raquel Welch, and the estate of Marilyn Monroe threatened to sue for the use of their likenesses without permission. Similarly, Valmor did take legal action and were given a monetary award for the use of their design.
The album was quickly re-issued with a redesigned cover that removed all the celebrities, whether they had complained or not. The celebrity images were replaced with black and punk style garish colours with the phrase Pardon our appearance – cover under re-construction. The only celebrity whose face was not removed was ex-Beatle George Harrison. As with the original design, the colour schemes on the redesigned sleeves varied in different markets.

I use the Goldmine Grading System, and play-test all records. I note any differences between vinyl and cover, and make note of any inserts, special sleeves, or potential defects.

MINT (M) - Absolutely perfect in every way. Most often this is a still sealed record, records that have been opened are rarely if ever marked as Mint.

NEAR MINT (NM) - A good description is that it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time. In other words, it?s nearly perfect, with no visible defects. 

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) - Except for a couple minor things, this could be Near Mint. Most collectors will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if on the high end (VG++). VG+ records may show slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Covers should have only minor wear. 

VERY GOOD (VG) - VG records are among the biggest bargains, and for many, will be worth the money. They can lack the original gloss, may have surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages. But the noise will not overpower the music. VG covers will have signs of handling, and may have minor splits. 

GOOD PLUS (G+) - Good+ does not mean bad! The record still plays through without skipping, but it has significant surface noise and groove wear. Cover may have significant ring wear, noticeable writing, or obvious damage.

GOOD (G) - Record may have some skipping, but is otherwise listenable. I generally avoid selling Good (G) rated records unless they are highly collectible or desirable, in order to enjoy until something better comes along. Cover has major wear or seam splits that need repair, or heavy writing like radio station call letters to prevent theft.
