DESCRIPTION: Rolling Stones- Their Satanic Majesties request. 3D gatefold cover and red inner. MONO. Matrices ARL 8126-1P/8127-P1. Blue unboxed decca labels. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Decca TXL103 YEAR OF RELEASE: 1967 COUNTRY OF RELEASE: U.K CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): G/G+. Vinyl is clean but with a lot of light surface lines. Played in its entirety tonight on my Ariston RD-80 Transcription deck. It sits flat on turntable. Generally plays around VG. HOWEVER. Has the odd click but nothing to spoil the enjoyment until the second off last track - 2000 light years on side 2. About a minute from the end of the track after the music has stopped then restarted there is some distortion and jumping then the record sticks. The needle needed lifting off. On the final track it plays through fine again. Gatefold cover is slightly bowed. Spine is fully ledgible. Has moderate edgewear, cornerwear and minimal creasing. Red inner has splits to all edges but is square and without the usual heavy creasing. Clean labels. Inner cover is excellent - only significant fault is on the maze (see picture 4) where someone has written a couple of names very neatlybin small writing from a biro. No other writing, rips, stickers or sticker tears. When i listened to this I was going to upgrade my own copy until the fault on 2000 light years. In the days of old if a record stuck you would get up off your ass and shift the needle. If thats a bit much for you, you might want to try a professional clean!!Low start price for an increasingly rare record. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading System but please note that GRADINGS ARE VISUAL ONLY UNLESS STATED. You are likely to get some background noise , even if its just between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades. I REMOVE ALL VINYL FROM SLEEVES PRIOR TO POSTING. RECORDS ARE SENT IN BEST QUALITY MAILERS WITH 2 STIFFENERS.
