Description
Richard Hawley's masterpiece "Coles Corner" on LIMITED VINYL. So rare it probably shouldn't even exist.
This is the FIRST AND ONLY PRESSING on Mute Records.
Condition - PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY
First of all, let me state that I am an "Audiophile" and that I purchase LPs on EBAY all the time. Nothing pains me more than to receive an LP that has been misdescribed. If you feel I have misdescribed the LP, I WILL ISSUE A REFUND however you will be responsible for paying return shipping. As such, I do a visual grade under a strong lamp. I play grade on a REGA PS3-24 turntable with an EXACT cartridge, played through a MUSICAL FIDELITY A3.2 DUAL MONO INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER, and DYANUDIO EXCITE 12 SPEAKERS. This system picks up ANY NOISE. The Exact Cartridge does exactly what the name suggests, plays exactly what is on the vinyl, it is extremely demanding. Please read my feedback. AND DO NOT BID UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE DETAILS BELOW CLOSELY. I want you to know what you are buying. THANKS.
vinyl: Visual Grade - NM - Hairlines visible under angled light. Play Grade - EX - Intermittent non-intrusive surface noise with a couple of pops on side 2. This LP is does not play silent. PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SILENT LP. This LP plays mostly silent, but there will be an occasional non-intrusive surface noise. When I listened to side 2, I noticed two light pops, but those were the only sounds that stuck out. Most songs will have an intermittant, non-intrusive noise. Mut wasn't pressing silent LPs at 2005. This is not an audiophile pressing, nor is it a mint pressing. In 2005, Mute was not pressing completely silent LPs, so you will not find a silent copy of this record. I have three of them, trust me. However, this is as close to a silent record as you will get with Coles Corner. Please be advised though, there IS OCCASIONAL NON-INTRUSIVE NOISE, plus 2 LIGHT POPS ON SIDE 2 on my system. Also, please remember that grading is ultimately subjective. What has noise on my system, may not have noise on yours, and vice versa.
In any event, if you have never heard this on LP, you will be in for a MAJOR TREAT. This is by far the only way to hear Coles Corner. This is analogue so the sound warm and full - no tinny digital here. It sounds like Richard is in the room with you. Essentially, this record was made to be heard in its analogue glory. Listening to this will take you back to the studio where it was recorded.
cover: NM - A couple of small creases at the corners, otherwise still shiny.
