Description

Original mono pressing of Jackie McLean "New and Old Gospel" on the blue and white Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4262. ( There is no "ear" after BLP 4226.)  Commercial copies of this record were only produced in stereo, but  Blue Note made a small number of mono copies for radio stations that were still programmed for mono broadcasts.  These copies are exceedingly rare.  The playing surface is in mint condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once.  Since Blue Note did not produce mono covers for these special issues, they placed a mono sticker on top of "Stereo" on the front of the jacket.  In all other respects, these covers are identical to the commercially available stereo covers.  Other than normal aging, this cover is in beautiful condition, clean and unworn throughout.

Personnel includes Ornette Coleman, Lamont Johnson, and Billy Higgins.
