Latin singer, bandleader, and long-time rival of TITO PUENTE
He recorded for Tico throughout the 1950s, enjoying great popularity among Latin audiences. In 1960, he signed with United Artists on the condition that he would be the label's sole Latin artist. The early 1960s brought his greatest success, with covers of pop hits such as "Cuando, Cuando" as well as Latin numbers such as his all-time best-seller, "Inolvidable (Unforgettable)." His nightclub act did well in New York and Latin America, and he recorded an excellent Latin jazz album with Zoot Sims and Bob Brookmeyer, Live at the Birdland.
A Extremely hard to find 10" LP, one of Tico Issues feauturing one by Tito Rodriguez followed by another 10" by Tito Puente (6 by each bandleader all entitled "Mambos By..."). Somehow these GEMS are very hard to find and in this condition almost impossible !!!
CONDITION OF RECORD AND COVER ARE VG++ RECORD HAS A FEW LIGHT MARKS NOTHING SERIOUS. MUST LOOK CLOSE TO FIND THAT. BONUS I AM THROWING IN MAMBOS BY TITO RODRIQUEZ VOL.5 BECAUSE THE COVER IS NICE BUT RECORD SOME HOW WAS STORED OUT OF COVER AND IS BELOW OUR SELLING MININUM GRADE IT PLAYS AND YOU SHOULD STILL ENJOY IT
