Description
The Kinks - Something Else - US Mono Promo Pressing - Reprise, 1967 **Very rare collectible item, especially in this condition.
Condition
Record ~ (EX) Light sleeve traces. Spot tested in full, plays very clean. Cleaned with a Klaudio ultrasonic.
Here's the entire A and B side audio that was recorded for me by the previous owner (this is a good reference to listen for surface noise and lead in grooves, not for dynamics that would be more present on a playback system; there is also some light hum on this recording): b i t (dot) l y / 4 i 8 1 s 0 4 — you just have to piece this back together, sorry for the inconvenience.
Including testing it for this listing I have only played this twice, so the condition quality you hear in that recording is the same or better, since this was before I ultrasonically cleaned it — in general I take great care in preserving my collection as well.
Cover ~ (VG+) Very solid, no seam splits. Minor wear to edges, corners and seams. Only light cracking in a few spots on the main side seam. Tip-on slick on the back of the sleeve is yellowed, but it's not as dramatic as the photo makes it seem.
What is rare about this cover is that the promo sticker was removed with great care (leaving only a faint shadow), giving it the appearance as though it were a commercially pressed mono release of this title — to me this is the coolest aspect of this copy.

(I wish I could hang on to this copy, but I am selling it out of necessity. It cost me a pretty penny, but it was a treat to get to own for a bit. Definitely one of the rarest and coolest records I've had in my possession).
