Grading

I use the following visual grading system:

**Cover**

SS ... still-sealed
M- … the cover will be free of ringwear.  All corners and seams will be tight and intact.

VG++ … the cover may have a very slight trace of ringwear.  Light foxing may be present.  Corners may be bumped   but the seams will all be intact.

VG+ … the cover will have moderate ringwear.  Foxing, if present, will be more noticeable than in a cover graded VG++.  Corners are bumped and portions of the seams will be damaged.

VG … heavier ringwear will be present with this grade.  Foxing, if present, will be very noticeable.  Corner and seams will both be damaged.

G … heavy ringwear, heavy foxing (if present), corners and seams will both be pretty bad.  A record graded ‘G’ is only being listed because of its rarity.

**Disc**

SS ... still-sealed
M- … the record will be glossy and free from scratches, paper scuffs, and spindle marks.

VG++ … the record will still be glossy but there may be a few paper scuffs and/or spindle marks.  The disc will not have scratches, though.

VG+ … the record will have lost some of its luster.  There will also definitely be light-to-moderate paper scuffs and/or spindle marks present.  However, no scratches will be found with this grade.

VG … the record appears dull and, in addition to moderate paper scuffing and/or spindle marks, there are one or two scratches.

G … the wax will be dull; there will be heavy paper scuffs and/or spindle marks; there will be three or more scratches.  Same deal here: a record graded ‘G’ is being listed because it’s rare.

Good luck!
