Description

Elvis Presley - Rock 'n Roll HMV 1956 CLP 1093

This is, I believe, the first ever Elvis record released in the UK, an original first pressing from 1956.  The cover, as the picture shows, is not in good condition with a piece missing from the front, and general wear all around.  The rear cover remains completely legible though and the cover remains capable of holding the LP.

The record has numerous marks and scratches, however, I'm pleased to say that none cause any 'sticking' or jumping.  I can't recall when I last played this record (I've had it about 40 years) but having played it four or five times in the last couple of days, I'm very surprised at the fine quality of the sound from this 50 year old mono record.   Having said that, there is some crackling particularly to track 3 on the 1st side.  The 4th track is less affected.   Even here it wasn't bad enough to detract from the enjoyment of the sound.
