Description
A rare 12-inch, one-sided "Recorded Program" Transcription. "RCA Victor Radio-Record Review" program, produced by RCA Victor to advertise their forthcoming records (with mentions of new radio receivers). Announcer states these are weekly programs (apparently sponsored by a local Victor dealer). Recorded late 1931, with announcer introducing artists and titles featured, and playing excerpts of the new releases. Artists featured on this program include Frank Crumit, Mischa Elman, Eddie South's International Orchestra ("Hejre Kati"), Leopold Stowkowski directing Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, The High Hatters ("Mary"), Leo Reisman, and an operatic "Fiddle And I" by Hilda M. . . (former/original owner wrote titles on label) Announcer at end extends wishes for 1932. . . Program R-9 (Matrix number also R-9 - Take -2) . . Pressed in semi-flexible Victrolac. Condition is Excellent, with a somewhat dull appearing surface. Small nick at outer edge - does not go near grooves. Sound is Excellent, with an occasional crackling at beginning. . .
