 SO HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION:  WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?  WHY COLLECT THEM?  WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? 

 Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.  Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. 

 Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments.  They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. 

 People collect them for various reasons. 

 Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all.

  Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music.  Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining.  

Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. 

 Believe it or not, some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. 

 AND, these shows are in limited quantity. 

 They were printed just for syndicated stations in the United States .  Many have just a few still in circulation.  

Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a few hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it.  A few hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. 

ROCK AND RIOKLL REUNION WITH RON O'QUINN WAS DISTRIBUTED TO ONLY 88 STATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY SO THERE WERE NEVER MORE THAN 88 COPIES AT THE MOST FROM THE START.  WHO KNOWS HOW MANY STILL EXIST SINCE RADIO STATIONS MOST OFTEN JUST TOSSED THEM AFTER BROADCAST SINCE THEY WERE ONLY FOR THE AIR DATE.

 AND they are increasingly hard to find. 

 They were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, then later on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR.  Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them. 

  My best contact for these shows is running very low and when he is gone I will be at the mercy of finding a good deal here and there but never from a regular source.  The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. 

 Even during the recession which is hopefully ending, the value of shows did not diminish much.  The number bought diminished because people were afraid to spend their money and who blames them.  But the prices did not decrease much and again are on the increase.

  Picture yourself back in the late 50's or 60's, even the 70's.  You were glued to your transistor radio listening to the top 40 presented by your local radio station.  You had that radio glued to your ear or connected with the little earphone jack that immediately broke.  Your local dj was great.  He knew the music.  He had the gift of talking which rarely occurs anymore.  You loved the presentation of the music as much as the sounds.  You liked the station jingles.  And on weekends when the local dj's had off, you listened to either taped shows they did during the week to be played on the weekend or a syndicated radio show featuring one of the greats.  It was the golden age of rock.  Music was king and the dj's were just as popular. You can relive those days whether you grew up then or just wish you had on only a handful of oldies shows. THIS IS ONE OF THEM.  Most of you who know me,  collectors who have dealt with me over the years, know that one of my favorite series of all time is this  ROCK AND ROLL REUNION WITH RON O'QUINN, AN EXTREMELY RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER SHOW   

This is  AN EXTREMELY RARE SHOW THAT IS RARELY SEEN ON EBAY AND WHEN IT IS, IT QUICKLY SELLS!    ROCK AND ROLL REUNION WITH RON O'QUINN WAS ONE OF THE BEST OLDIES SHOWS OUT THERE.   Ron played the older oldies, which few syndicated shows did, and he also played a lot of  Carolina Beach Music known in the Carolinas and Virginia and down to Florida  which also set his show apart from all others.   

   Ron O'Quinn is an American radio disc jockey born March 4, 1943 in McRae, Georgia.

At the age of 16, O'Quinn began his radio career at WMGA, a station in his hometown of Moultrie, Georgia, where he worked at the time of his graduation from Moultrie High School in 1961. Shortly thereafter, O'Quinn joined the Army, where he became a machine gunner as an Army Ranger. In 1963, after finishing his time in the Army, O'Quinn jumped right back into radio with a move to WVLD in Valdosta, Georgia, then on to WROD in Daytona Beach, Florida, before ending up at WLCY in Tampa, Florida, where he went by the moniker Jack E. Rabbitt. While on WLCY, O'Quinn had the highest rankings ever earned in the Tampa market, a 60% share (Arbitron, released Summer 1966), a record that still stands today. Moving on to Miami, O'Quinn went to work for WFUN,[1] where he became known as Jack Armstrong.

In 1966, O'Quinn left WFUN to become Program Director of a new radio station, Swinging Radio England, that was located off the coast of England in the North Sea.

During his time at Radio England, O'Quinn accompanied The Beatles on their 1966 U.S. Tour. It is O'Quinn who coughs in the studio during the count-in to Taxman.

Upon returning to England following the tour, O'Quinn was told he had 3 weeks to get his affairs in order and return to America, unless he left the employ of Radio England, in which case he could remain (due to the British government imposing restrictions against offshore pirate radio). Knowing that he couldn't remain in the UK jobless, O'Quinn left Radio England and returned to the United States.

After returning home to America, O'Quinn worked for many top-rated stations, including a return to WFUN, WYLD in New Orleans, KYA in San Francisco  & WUBE in Cincinnati, as well as being National Program Director of Urban Stations for Rounsaville Organization, an Atlanta-based company.

In early 1971 O'Quinn became the manager of WSIZ in Ocilla, Georgia where he stayed until 1976. In 1987, after being out of radio for a several years, O'Quinn started a syndicated oldies show, Rock and Roll Reunion, which was carried on 88 stations across the country. He also hosted a weekly oldies show, Memories Unlimited, on WQZY-FM and WKKZ-FM in Dublin, Georgia until 2001.

Ron is regarded as one of the "BEST ALL TIME Disc Jockeys". His style was high energy, rapid fire, and always the top rated program in his time slot. Ron is a member of the Pirate Radio Hall of Fame, and was an inaugural nominee for the Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame. On October 20, 2012, Ron was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame as a Career Achievement Inductee.

In August 2010, Ron made his return to the radio in Europe on Big L 1395AM with his weekly syndicated radio show "Radio England Rewind". Other European and internet stations also now carry his show. From October 2011, Ron is also heard on the European KBC international shortwave radio station on 6095 kHz.

The show comes on three lp's in beautiful mint new condition, played only on the day of network broadcast and lovingly stored in air conditioning since. 

  The cue sheets are also in excellent condition with no markings anywhere.   It is a show that will highlight your collection.       

This show was absolutely unbelievable and now you can own one or more for yourself.  It came as pictured (it is a generic picture and not of this particular show but they all look the same) with  three beautifully decorated LP's WITH their the cue sheets.   The show  was distributed by Triple R Productions in Dublin, Georgia
