RUSSELL MORRIS The Real Thing (Decca) France 1969.
Here's an Ultra Rare FRENCH only Picture Cover release for the iconic OZ 60s Classic "The Real Thing" by Russell Morris, produced by Molly Meldrum, and written by Johnny Young. Even though this Single was released in the UK & the US, France was the only country that released it with a Picture Sleeve. And fantastic sleeve art too, with a late 60s Trippy Psychedelic vibe.
I bought this Single a number of years ago from a French dealer, and he told me it was very rare in France (it obviously didn't sell much there). I can't even find any info for any completed ebay listings, over the last 10 years or so! The sleeve has a lot of Ringware (as you can see in the pics), the Vinyl is really heavy, so not surprising), the labels are very nice...and the Vinyl plays well.
The Cover is VG-, heavy ringware on front & reverse, some creasing (see pics & zoom in), the Vinyl is VG+, one light mark on S1, not affecting play, general light sleeve scuffing, plays well.
Very difficult to find, this is maybe the only copy you'll ever see...don't miss out!!
