RUSH-IGL RECORDS HARDEST TO FIND RELEASE-1969 HARD ROCK-500 MADE VG+
You are bidding on Iowa’s and it’s famed IGL Studios rarest ever record release. Here is the story.
When a band came to record at the famed IGL Recording Studio, the band very seldom got their newly pressed recording first after coming back from the record plant. Typically the 500 discs ordered per session would come back to the studio with 1/3 kept by the studio for marketing to radio stations and the other 2/3 to the band to distribute. Later in the 60’s there was a new practice at the studio when the records were just dropped shipped to the band back at their home address after a session. Once those 500 records reached the doorstep, it’s anybody’s guess what happened to them.
In the case of York, Nebraska’s Rush, their legendary 45 of IGL “Hooddoo Man/Squeeze” IGL #214, was thought to have never actually been pressed or even made it to the band after supposedly being pressed. The studio has never seen or heard a copy even after the studio closed its doors. Until this listing, many never even knew the band was from York, Nebraska. It is VG+. Plays super!
That is why this package is so amazing. It includes a VG+ copy of the Rush 45, yes it exists, a photo of the band and a Rush promo sheet for booking gigs!!!! Nothing like this has ever been offered before. Years ago when I wrote the book, “The IGL Story” this record was just a legend that no one even thought it existed. The was just a listing for it at the studio for and nothing ELSE.
I hung onto for years an old ad for the Roof Garden Ballroom at Lake Okoboji, Iowa. It had Rush opening for another band at the ballroom. I’m including that ad with this listing.
