Description

RUMPLESTILTSKIN - 'RUMPLESTILTSKIN'. STEREO. BELL. SBLL 130 (1970).

RARE UK PROG CLASSIC. First UK pressing on the silver and blue 'tessellated logo pattern' BELL labels. EX+ sleeve. EX+/NEAR MINT vinyl!  This set is in amazing overall condition. Beautiful artwork (inside and out) on the glossy laminated gatefold sleeve. A real time capsule copy.

First press blue/silver Bell label design (most seen have the later press black and silver labels). Some very sparse laminate creasing to top left spine and top right area of the front sleeve. No loss of laminate at all and as great a copy as you will likely ever find. It is in fantastic shape.  The inside of the gatefold sleeve features a wonderful 'artistic' mirrored photograph of a naked lady posing over an antique spinning wheel. (see photo no.3. Please note I have censored the artwork as eBay has policies on listing nudity).

The artwork is as fresh as the day it was printed.  Vinyl has all it's gloss and shine and no faults - it is pristine considering it's 40 years old!  Labels show NO signs of play, no spindle wear - nothing to fault.  This copy would please ALL collectors looking for that final upgrade.

Has MADE IN GT BRITAIN and 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD' text on labels.  Produced by SHEL TALMY.  Sleeve printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.

For many years, people were convinced that the guitarist heard on this album was JIMMY PAGE, but the credited player goes by the name of Andrew Balmain on the album sleeve - his real name CLEM CATTINI. He of the killer guitar breaks in Donovan's 'Hurdy Gurdy Man'.  Indeed the whole line up of Rumplestiltskin was a pick of the cream of London's session musicians. Clem Cattini's guitar tone here does sound very similar to some of the stuff Jimmy Page conjured for Zepellin!  The singer's voice is pretty cool too (Peter Charles Greene). It's brilliant stuff and a pure slice of British Progressive Rock.

The time has come for me to start selling off big chunks of my otherwise 'keeper' collection. Some of these records are incredibly hard to find in such superb condition. The records in my eBay listings are from my own personal record collection. I am not a record dealer. Some particular records I have bought two or three times over - just to get that special 'keeper' copy. These listings are the fruits of my collecting effort which spans over 25 years.

My
Buy It Now prices fairly reflect the market and demand for these genuinely rare records. Just search through sites like Popsike dot com for some past examples of eBay auction results over the last few years. The Buy It Now option makes it fair on everybody... too many disappointments can be had by not bidding high enough and finding out you missed having an item by £5 or less!  My regular auction listings start with a price I am happy to sell at, and if demand dictates that this price goes higher then that's all good.

In the very rare event that you are disappointed, I will accept returns if items are not as described and issue a full refund (minus your return postage costs).

PayPal ONLY PLEASE. Items selling over £38.00 will be insured and sent by Special Delivery and/or Registered Post with insurance. £6.50 for UK, and £13.00 for Rest of the World
. If postage is significantly more than quoted I will refund any difference.

Regarding postage and shipping:  I am not Amazon.com.  I go to the post office once or possibly twice a week.  During the holidays it will be increasingly painful, so be patient.  "Priority mail" means it goes by air...it does not mean it goes out in the next hour.  I have never had a package lost and do not get any complaints about packing - in fact my packing rates among the best on eBay. I use cruciform mailers (usually doubled-up) and loads of parcel tape to ensure a strong package.

Please read my checkout instructions. Please wait for my invoice before paying, as postage to different global locations can vary. Full refund given (minus return postage) if item is not as described.

STRICTLY GRADED. (Play graded, and visually graded to Record Collector standards).

Any questions please email...

I have no need to use the words MEGA, ULTRA, or c**p on about how many of these LPs got trashed at parties. I try to avoid exhaustive usage of exclamation marks in my honest descriptions and I also avoid the over-use of CAPITAL letters (unless they are used for relevant emphasis to my auction description) and I do not wish to shout at my buyers. I know that you know about the records you wish to purchase. One other thing - I do not sell items which have had the opening edges of the cover trimmed by a guillotine or blade to make the covers appear in better condition. Some other sellers do this as a regular practice, and it's just not on.
