You are bidding on an original factory sample first pressing of

 THE 1969 ROLLING STONES ALBUM

THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY

RELEASED ON THE DECCA RECORD LABEL CAT NUMBER SKL 5019

This is an extemely rare factory sample that was taken from the first day of production and used by Decca for testing and evaluation purposes, it is the earliest known example of this album, it would no doubt have been one of, if not the first stereo version ever manufactured!!!!

GRADE OF THE VINYL

 The vinyl labels are the silver on blue unboxed decca variety complete with the "FULL FREQUENCY STEREOPHONIC SOUND" text.

Side 1 label includes the Decca Factory Sample ink stamp and the "Sample Record  (NOT FOR SALE) label, along with this detail it has had a small amount of the top of the side one label removed again carried out by the factory in the interest of ensuring the record was not illegally sold, side 1 spindle area has just very light spindle marks and minimal wear round the spindle area.

Side 2 label also includes the Decca Factory Sample ink stamp side 2 spindle area has just very light spindle marks and minimal wear round the spindle area, overall I would grade the labels as Excellent.

 There are a few light hairlines and surface marks present but nothing heavy or feelable or sounding, no jumps, no skips, or unsightly marks, the vinyl is in excellent condition from both a visual and an audio perspective.

OUTER SLEEVE

The album is complete with the original hexagonal sleeve the front is clean & bright, complete with the Factory Sample stamp, the spine is 100% solid and readable with no splits or rips, the rear of the sleeve has a small amount of laminate peel to the opening edge, is complete with the punched stereo/mono hole, the inner gatefold is very clean, overal sleeve grade is Excellent

THE INNER SLEEVE

Album is complete with the original Decca blue edged hexagonal sleeve, once again this is stamped with the Decca "Factory Sample" again excellent condition.
