Product Description

THE ROLLING STONES-The Rolling Stones 1963-1970-6LP Box-1980-EMI Records Australian issue 6 x 12” vinyl LP Box Set (RSB.1).  This is a Decca Records/EMI Records Australian only release from 1980.  Although there was apparently a similar release in France (and possibly Europe) in 1976, this box is unique as it contains 6LPs, whereas the French/European release appeared to only contain 5LPs.  The Australian box features the same 5LPs included in the French release, plus a 6th LP titled “The Rolling Stones Limited Edition Collectors Item”, which has 12 tracks.  For the remaining 5LPs, each LP cover features one of the band members on the front cover (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman & Brian Jones).  The back of the cover states the name of the band member and includes a brief bio. The LPs are in amazing condition (both the jackets and the vinyl discs) and the labels all show the maroon coloured Decca label.  Also, for the avoidance of any confusion, KEITH RICHARDS’ name has been misspelled across all albums and labels, and appears incorrectly throughout as KEITH RICHARD.  The left hand side of the front cover (or lid) of the box is hinged (i.e. attached to the Box) and the top left corner of the hinge is torn but the bottom left corner is fine.  The Box cover shows “The Rolling Stones” in silver print, semi-embossed on the cover.  It also has a sticker indicating “The Rolling Stones 1963-1970”.  The Box is in good condition overall but does have some shelf wear, particularly on the bottom of the box lid, and to a lesser extent around the remaining edges of the box lid and box itself.  See photos for more detail.  Additionally, this Box Set also includes a 4 paged paper discography 1963-1980 compiled by Glenn A. Baker which includes Australian release details (paper shows some light ageing spots).  This was an extremely limited release and this version is now very hard to find.
