This is an original FIRST U.S. PRESSING of The Rolling Stones LP, “Their Satanic Majesties Request,” released by London Records in 1967. The album is STILL SEALED in its original plastic shrink-wrap.
The album features a LENTICULAR 3D photo image adhered to front cover of the album’s GATEFOLD sleeve. The psychedelic 3D image further marks out the early editions of this album as the later re-issues had this unique 3D cover art replaced with a standard 2D version of the same photo image.

DISCOGRAPHY:
Their Satanic Majesties Request by the Rolling Stones was released in December 1967 by Decca Records in the UK and by London Records in the US. It is their sixth British and eighth American studio album, and their first to be released in identical versions in both countries.
The band experimented widely with a psychedelic sound on Satanic Majesties, incorporating unconventional elements such as Mellotron, sound effects, string arrangements, and African rhythms. The album was self-produced by the band following the departure of longtime manager/producer Andrew Loog Oldham, and the lengthy recording was marked by frequent drug use, court appearances, and jail terms by members of the band. The original LP cover features a lenticular image by photographer Michael Cooper.
Without a doubt, no Rolling Stones album — and, indeed, very few rock albums from any era — split critical opinion as much as the Rolling Stones' psychedelic outing. Many dismiss the record as sub-Sgt. Pepper posturing; others confess, if only in private, to a fascination with the album's inventive arrangements. What's clear is that never before and never again did the Stones take so many chances in the studio.
Some critics and fans, however, feel that the record has been unfairly undervalued; in part because purists expect the Stones to constantly champion a blues 'n' raunch worldview. It's a much better record than most people give it credit for being, though, with a strong current of creeping uneasiness that undercuts the gaudy psychedelic flourishes.
About half the material is very strong, particularly the glorious “She's a Rainbow,” with its beautiful harmonies, piano, and strings; the riff-driven “Citadel,” and the hazy, dream-like “In Another Land,” Bill Wyman's debut writing (and singing) credit on a Stones release; and the majestically dark and doomy cosmic rocker “2000 Light Years from Home,” with some of the creepiest synthesizer effects (devised by Brian Jones) ever to grace a rock record.
Following the album's release, however, the Rolling Stones abandoned their psychedelic style for a stripped-down return to their roots in blues music. In 1968, the Stones would go back to the basics, and never wander down these paths again, making this all the more of a fascinating anomaly in the group's discography.

WHY IS THIS ALBUM LISTED AS "USED" INSTEAD OF "NEW"?
I get asked this question a lot. The answer is simple: NEW, by definition, means a recent production of something that has never been previously owned. All of my records are original vintage vinyls that have all been previously owned and therefore must be considered used despite never being opened.
This is called "USED NEW OLD STOCK" which means that the album was previously owned, but it was NEVER BEEN OPENED OR REMOVED FROM THE MANUFACTURER'S ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED PLASTIC SHRINK WRAP. If you still have questions, feel free to send me a message.
PLEASE REFERENCE PHOTOS FOR ACCURATE LOOK AT CONDITION
Please take care to look at all photographs very closely as they are the best accounting of the record's condition. I took care to provide the best true-to-life photographs I could, including angles from the album's front, back, and sides as well as close-ups of its corners and any notable flaws. It is the buyer's responsibility to review them closely, so there are no surprises when the album arrives.

ABOUT MY RECORDS
I inherited all of my vinyl from the private collection of a 25+ year London Records Executive who worked for the label in New York City during the 60s, 70s, and into the late-80s. He held a senior role at the label, which allowed him unique insider access to many original first press editions when they were first released in the US as well as some rare test pressings. He worked directly on US marketing and promotion for The Rolling Stones throughout most of the 1960s when they were at the height of their fame, which is why I have so many early pressings of their albums. The collection overall is vast and diverse with a myriad of albums and artists spanning more than 30-40 years and over a dozen music genres. The lion’s share fall into three main categories: Rock, Classical Symphony & Opera, and Jazz.
