'Sticky Fingers' is one of the hardest of all vinyls of the early 70's to find with top audio, and in great all round condition.
The early 70's saw what was undoubtedly a great creative period for the Stones, (many of course would say THE great period) but the production of the vinyls was notoriously patchy.
Mick Jagger has spoken at length on the subject, often stating that he wants to re master the great stones records of this time. On saying that, clear playing 1st pressings were made, but they are unbelievably scarce.
And it was of course a highly popular album which meant that people played them to death. And then, there was that zip. The innovative design by Andy Warhol himself, including a real working metal zip, meant that the vinyl's AND the covers would become instantly destroyed, either in transit, while packed on display in the shops or just sandwiched in the owners record collection.
So finding a pressing that has a gleaming vinyl, that has Top clear Audio, and a cover not torn or highly scratched by being stacked against other zipped covers in the stores, is now almost impossible.
To find a 1st pressing with a great cover and near perfect audio makes this an extreme rarity.
Sticky Fingers is the ninth studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in April 1971.
It was the band's first album of the 1970s and its first release on the band's newly-formed label, Rolling Stones Records, after having been contracted since 1963 with Decca Records in the UK and London Records in the US.
It is also Mick Taylor's first full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones album, and the first not to feature any contributions from founding guitarist Brian Jones.
With the end of their Decca / London association at hand, The Rolling Stones would finally be free to release their albums (cover art and all) as they pleased.
The artwork for Sticky Fingers — which, on the original vinyl release, featured a working zipper that opened to reveal a man in cotton briefs - rubber stamped "THIS PHOTOGRAPH MAY NOT BE-ETC." — was conceived by American pop artist Andy Warhol.
After retailers complained that the zipper was causing damage to the vinyl (from stacked shipments of the record), the zipper was "unzipped" slightly to the middle of the record, where damage would be minimised.
The album features the first usage of the "Tongue and Lip Design" designed by John Pasche.
Condition of Vinyl: EX+ with an EX++ AUDIO.
There are very, very few and light only hairline surface marks, it should actually be graded even better but there are a few very tiny cloudy spots which don't affect the audio and are only visible under very strong and direct light, that for same reason I can not wipe out.
A lovely piece of HEAVY glossy vinyl. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings.
Remember i am grading my records under a very strong light. This is an AMAZING copy with an AMAZING sound, practically perfect!!!
LABELS: The labels are in great condition. Splendid deeply coloured attractive examples. No wear around the hole areas, with all ink uneroded and fully intact. Virtually no spindle traces to be found. The vinyl still fits very tightly around the record spindle. Deep intact colour, Minimal spindle traces only. Great all round examples!.Check photos.
Plays loud, strong and incredibly vibrant with amazing depth and clarity to the sound and my play-check at loud volume found no major audio issues of note - no scratches and no grove-wear or distortion. Plays nearly perfect, with some very, very light surface noise only at times in the run-ins and some of the quietest passages but at times all you hear is silence. AMAZING AUDIO!!!
There are tracks like "Wild Horses" or "Sister Morphine" which are a real test on this album due to its many layered quiet sections sings out with very little static in the run ins and quiet areas.
Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of clear sound. Still no loud pops or clicks during the music, and not a hint of distortion. Staggering first stereo mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact.
As Exile is one of the most debauched albums, usually they have been equally abused. Not this one! So rare to find a copy in this condition!.
This is a great record!!!. Beautiful!!! No jumps or skips.
Condition of Cover: EX++.
Comes with original ANDY WARHOL sleeve, in superb condition.
This is a great complete example of the brilliant Sticky Fingers cover, designed by Art Star Andy Warhol.
Being thick matt unlaminated card with the famous belt buckle design, these covers rarely fared well, usually having heavy ring wear and tears, with the belt buckle being ripped off and a lot of yellowing to the background. Not this one! It has no tears or splits, again very hard to find.
There are four very superficial dents on the cover. Three tiny ones at the top left side of the zip and one at the bottom right of the zip. Nothing serious whatsoever
There aren't any light signs of ring wear.
The Spine is in great condition with hardly any light wear. Check photos!!!
There is hardly any light wear along the edges, only what you can see on photo 7. Really minimal!!
The inner is as new as the first day. PERFECT!!!!.
This is a brilliant copy of this classic lp. The best i have seen and ever had. TRULLY UNMISSABLE!!!

GRADING:
All records are graded using the UK ‘Record Collector’ format:
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
PACKAGING INFORMATION:
LPs and singles will be sent in a record mailing envelope and will be protected by two cardboard stiffeners.
