Description
Up for auction is the The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" original USA first pressing from 1978, on Rolling Stones Records COC 39108, with die-cut cover.
This is the withdrawn original cover, with photographs of Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Farrah Fawcett, and Racquel Welch included on the record's inner sleeve. The Stones and Atlantic Records quickly recalled and altered the graphics when they ran into trouble and were threatened with legal action, as permission to use the photographs of the famous female stars was never given.
This Original is still sealed in it's original shrink wrap. Still Sealed, Mint and Unplayed!
There is sticker on the outside of wrap "Contains The Single MISS YOU" This is the most perfect copy of this LP that you could want. Might be a nice one for a true collector, or a gift for a Stones fan who would appreciate a stone mint original. And this particular copy has the more popular vibrant colors of blue, rose, green, and yellow (rather than the dull gray and off white most commonly found for sale.
The record was recored in 1977 and 78 with sessions taking place in Paris France, Some Girls was completed in time for a summer release in early June 78. The Some Girls album would become the Stones best selling ever. But only the very first run pressings in early summer of 1978 would feature this cover art with all the famous faces still included.
The songs on the record are "Miss You", "When The Whip Comes Down", "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)", "Some Girls", "Lies", (Side Two) "Far Away Eyes", "Respectable", "Before They Make Me Run", "Beast Of Burden", and "Shattered". "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)".
The cover on this one is totally flawless with square corners, and no breaks in sealed shrink. A perfect one, and would make the perfect gift being a 1978 Original, and yet unopened, and never played.
