Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 40 years or more! Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing the very earliest 1st issue featureing -1P -P1 Matrix endings.  Please note:This is not mint: I am selling this for its collectability and for its awesome vibrant audio rather than for its condition, there is general wear and tear on the vinyl and cover as explained below. There is interference in the form of isolated static background crackle/ticks/pops heard in between some tracks and quiet places and isolated static ticks/pops heard,, this is very playable and enjoyable 1st UK pressing and in mono!

I would grade the audio at Excellent for the most part! (note: interference in the form of background crackle tick/ticks/pops/crackle heard ) Importantly there are no skips or jumps and I found this vinyl still playable and enjoyable.

Full description below.

Their Satanic Majesties Request is the sixth British and eighth American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released in December 1967 by Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records in the United States.

Recording sessions saw the band experimenting widely with a psychedelic sound in the studio, incorporating elements such as unconventional instruments, sound effects, string arrangements, and African rhythms.

The album's title is a play on the "Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires ..." text that appears inside a British passport.

It is the first Stones album to feature the same track listings in both its UK and US versions.

Upon its release, Satanic Majesties received mixed reactions from critics and members of the group itself.

The album was criticised as being derivative of the contemporaneous work of the Beatles, particularly their June 1967 release Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, with the similarities extending to the LP's lenticular cover.

In subsequent decades, however, it has gradually risen in critical reputation.

Following the album's release, the Rolling Stones abandoned their psychedelic style for a stripped-down return to their roots in blues music.

Begun just after Between the Buttons had been released on 20 January 1967, the recording of Their Satanic Majesties Request was long and sporadic, broken up by court appearances and jail terms.

For the same reasons, the entire band was seldom present in the studio at one time. Further slowing productivity was the presence of the multiple guests that the band members had brought along.

One of the more level-headed members of the band during this time, Bill Wyman, wary of psychedelic drugs, wrote the song "In Another Land" to parody the Stones' current goings-on.

All tracks written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, except "In Another Land" by Bill Wyman.

Side one
1. "Sing This All Together" 3:46
2. "Citadel" 2:50
3. "In Another Land" 3:15
4. "2000 Man" 3:07
5. "Sing This All Together (See What Happens)" (hidden track "Cosmic Christmas" starts at 7:58) 8:33

Side two
6. "She's a Rainbow" 4:35
7. "The Lantern" 4:24
8. "Gomper" 5:08
9. "2000 Light Years from Home" 4:45
10. "On with the Show" 3:40

The Vinyl

The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping! It is noted that there are surface marks and scratches on the playing surface but nothing that would cause any skips or jumps. Fortunately these originals are thick heavy vinyl and have deep grooves, making them more durable than later pressings.  At least no deep needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any loud nasty contant clicks or pops during the audio, However, Crackle and pops are to be heard and to be expected.

The Audio Quality

I have played the vinyl throughout at very loud volume on a top system seven times prior to this listing on a top system, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! The first thing to note is that the audio is clear and very vibrant throughout with no signs of distortion.  Noted: I heard ticks/pops and background crackle during the play of this vinyl, but it is still very playable and of course very collectable being 51 years old and getting harder to find complete!

I would grade the audio at near excellent for the most part.

Please note! This vinyl has been im my collection and laying dormant  for more than 45 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static/ticks. A constant clean before each play is recommended! This will reduce any static/ticks and will enhance the audio quality! It is noted that debrit was seen on the playing surface after each play!

Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for crackle/ticks/pops (not) consistant throughout the audio! I  have given my honest opinion, Please remember that this is a genuine 51 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 51 year old system!

The Labels

These are the original 1st issue Unboxed Decca labels. Spider traces are noted on the labels when angled to the light. There are no nasty handwriting. little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original psychadelic red/white sleeve light creases with age ande becoming fragile at the edges. light browning/staining with age only. This is the original!

The cover

This is the original laminated front only 1st UK issue. 1st UK pressing gatefold cover! Lovely glossy laminate, Features the original pasted 3d image on the front. in excellent condition in my opinion! No splits or tears. Light general wear and tear with age only. This cover is graded excellent in my opinion!
