Description

Issued in UK for export to Europe at the end of 1966 or probably in January 1967.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The similar US London “ Got Live If You Want It” was issued on December 10th 1966

This is a UK made LP but it was never sold in the UK during the 60’s, being pressed for export only. It was mostly sold in Scandinavia and possibly also in Germany. The LP naturally was sold in very, very small quantities and nowadays it is one of the most difficult Stones LP's from the 60's to find, especially in excellent condition.

Exists mono and stereo Decca open labels (LK /SKL 4838, mono is impossible to find !) and a stereo “boxed” label probably pressed from 1970 to 1972.

This is one.

This is the first Rolling Stones live album on DECCA. Is it LIVE?  It’s a “mix”, partly is studio material added with noise audience and mostly live performances added the same with overdubbed instruments. Probably the master used for the UK LP is different from the master used for the US London version ”Got live if you want it”.

The existence of a lot of tapes recorded during the UK 1966 tour dates is confirmed from Glyn Johns (the record engineer, at that time) and from the following versions of the US albums in CD ( Abkco/London 844 467 2 and the 2002 remastered edition) where we can find completely different introductions, mixing and “new” versions of some songs, clearly coming from different dates.

Three audio tracks are audible; vocals, crowd and band in that order.

2 tracks would be studio takes, I´ve Been Loving You Too Long and Fortune Teller.
These two were recorded between 11-20 October 1966 at IBC Studios and overdubbed with audience noise.

At last this item :

Stereo Decca “boxed” label SKL 4838, probably pressed from 1970 to 1972.

The record was  played a lot of times, but it’s in near mint conditions, no scratchs, no problem listening, labels perfects , no sign. ( see photos ).

Cover in not good conditions, used with few care, back cover with a sign  on top and a rubber stamp of the probably owner, light circle worn , spine ruined at the centre ( see photos )

Original Decca inner sleeve of the period in mint conditions.

Matrix:  ZAL 7517 1W  ( Mr . Harry Fisher engineer ) -Mother 1 –Stamper  B-N // SIDE TWO: – ZAL 7518 1W –Mother 1 –stamper B-C.

The record is ten times better conditions than the cover..sorry...see the codes and the very few pressing of this title.
