with mega rare "MONA" track listing to both label and sleeve.
On offer here is The Rolling Stones first UK LP release, and a very early pressing, now incredibly hard to find, as it has the "MONA" track listing to both label and sleeve, later replaced by "I NEED YOU BABY" which is by far the usual credit you find.

THE COVER IS GRADED VERY GOOD(+) CONDITION.
ORIGINAL 1964 DECCA INNER SLEEVE , IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
THE RECORD IS GRADED VERY GOOD++ CONDITION. (although I would add that it plays nearer EXCELLENT)
A band making their debut LP is relying on the experience of a Record Company to cover all the legal copyrights attatched to song titles. They should also be able to trust them to press the right version of a song! It's this kind of botched jobs that led to so many variations of this album within the first weeks of release, The Stones first LP became a very complicated UK issue, with the mega-rare 1st pressing needing an instant re-pressing. The shorter Demo version of "Tell Me" was mistakenly used , but even after the 2nd pressing there was a song copyright problem over "Mona", requiring a further pressing and also re-printing of the labels and cover. This meant the ending maitrix numbers on this LP that started at "-1A / -1A", had a constant rise in the sequence. All this was happening in the first few weeks of issue, these mistakes being compounded by the way the LP's sales took off, leaving Decca floundering to cope with the demand for the album. They immediately withdrew the unsold covers and records, so the few sold "Mona" LP's are very rare now. Allowing for the fact this was nearly 40 years ago, not many "Mona" covers have survived in a presentable condition , a record with "Mona" on the label is more than likely to be in an unplayable condition which, I am pleased to add, is not the case here.
A very nice, respectable copy. The vinyl displays no major "ugly" wear at all, with no heavy scratches, and merely light surface marks and playing closer to EXCELLENT with only the occasional "pop" and light "record sound" between tracks. The front laminated sleeve is also very respectable with no tears, splits and only some short creases along spine. Still very glossy. The unlaminated rear is lightly yellowed, has a name removed from the upper left corner, but no major damage. A tiny ink speck after the "I" in "ROLLING" (see photo) but, as mentioned, the sleeve still remains in strong, respectable condition.
EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION!
