Loeffler on bass and Siegfried Schwab on guitar... highly recommended if you´re into instrumental exploitation psychedelic music like London's underground, Undergroundv Set, Ugly Custard and Blue Phantom...1 track can be heard on the great and famous "Psychedelic Salvage Company" complilation... <p>

the abstract electric piano and organ play by Roland Kovac leads this imaginative sound impressions followed by great funky drum and percussion breaks, psychedelic guitar and bass… interesting rhythm constructions…<p>

The Roland Kovac New Set released several instrumental LPs on the Selected Sound label from Hamburg, the second and third of which, "The master said" (1971) and "Love that" (1972), are good progressive rock with a clear emphasis on jazz. The line-up on "The master said" consisted of top musicians: Master Roland Kovac himself had obtained his doctorate in music as early as 1952 and written numerous classical works and soundtracks. Guitarist Siegfried Schwab had just become famous at that time by working with Et Cetera and other groups and shows his brilliance on this LP with his fuzz guitar. Drummer Charly Antolini ("Knock out") had already been in business for many years and is still first choice on the jazz scene today. The fourth member was Franz Löffler on bass, who had already released several guitar LPs in the 1960s.<p>

Die Roland Kovac New Set veröffentlichte zahlreiche LPs auf Selected Sound. Die zweite und dritte davon, "The Master Said" von 1971 und "Love That" von 1972, sind guter instrumentaler Progressiv-Rock mit deutlichem Jazz-Anteil. Die Besetzung auf "The master said" war vom Allerfeinsten: Meister Roland Kovac selbst hatte bereits 1952 seinen Doktortitel der Musikwissenschaften erworben und schrieb zahlreiche klassische Werke und Filmmusiken. Siggi Schwab an der Gitarre war damals durch seine Gastspiele u.a. bei Et Cetera / Amon Düül gerade erst bekannt geworden und glänzt hier ganz besonders. Schlagzeuger Charly Antolini ("Atomic Drums") war zu der Zeit schon seit Jahren gut im Geschäft und ist auch heute noch erste Wahl im Jazzbereich. Dazu kam Franz Löffler am Baß, der in den Sechzigern bereits mehrere Gitarren-LPs veröffentlicht hatte.<p>
