Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 16 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my 60’s beat and psych and some 70’s progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare first Holland pressing of The RO-D-YS with Annet Hesterman – Winter Woman b/w Looking for Something Better on the Philips label with cat. no. 334 690 JF.
The record is in VG+ condition, there are some non-sounding hairlines and a couple non-sounding lines. The labels are in VG+ condition, there is a tiny sticker on the A side label with the previous owner’s name and he also has written the duration of the songs on both labels
The original picture sleeve is in VG condition, there is a bottom split of approx. 3.5 centimetres and two splits on the right side, one on top of approx. 4 centimetres, the other one is in the middle and is around 5 centimetres. Further the previous owner has coloured in the “PHILIPS” letters in the bottom of the front and there is a large stain on the back.
Despite the condition, this is an extremely hard to find (if not the hardest to find) RO-D-YS single. For this single, the RO-D-YS added Annet Hesterman to the band in an attempt to raise sales. The addition of a girl singer did not work (the sales of this single was dramatic) and later that year Harry Rijnsbergen joined the Amsterdam based ZEN and with that it was the end of the RO-D-YS. This single is a real must have for all RO-D-YS collectors or Dutch (Freak) Beat fans. Happy Bidding!
