As well as the more famous horror films that Death Waltz has been dealing in, it's good to see the label unearthing some truly hidden gems, particularly of Italian origin. The 1981 video nasty House By The Cemetery was bolstered by an expansive, exploratory turn from Walter Rizzati who employed an almost krautrock discipline to his incidentals and themes. Live bass and guitar intermingle with space-age synths to great effect, occasionally finding the funk in amidst the plaintive piano pieces and more proggy excursions. As ever the artwork only serves to strengthen the worth of this slickly restored artefact of soundtracks and horror film culture.
