RHYTHM OF PARADISE

Divina EP

Ritmo Adriatico

12" Cat: RTD 001
Rel: 4 May 26
Minimal House/Tech House Side 1 - Track 1. Divina Side 1 - Track 2. Divina (St David club mix) Side 2 - Track 1. Italia Novanta Side 2 - Track 2. Te Quiero

Once a regular contributor to Bari buddy Nicola Loporchio's Cosmic Rhythm imprint, Michele Lamacchia AKA Rhythm of Paradise has finally decided to launch a label of his own, Ritmo Adriatico. Fittingly, he handles the first release himself, delivering a trio of original productions. Lead cut 'Divina' is a nostalgic, retro-futurist treat in which winding acid lines, restless organ riffs, whispered female vocals and late 80s style Fairlight stabs ride a driving, peak-time ready groove. Fellow Bari resident Davide Disanto aka St David remixes, turning the track into a bleeping chunk of heavyweight deep house. Over on the flip, Lamacchia serves up two more must-check revivalist Italo-house missives, with the Montego Bay style joy of 'Italia Novante' being followed by the more low-slung, bass-heavy breakbeat-house chunkiness of 'Te Queiro'.
