REVA JORDAN -- Let Him In -- ex. rare, original 1983 U.S. album. Superb early 1980's private press LP out of Inglewood, California by this criminally overlooked singer & songwriter who mixes Modern Soul, Gospel and Funk. Jordan apparently began recording in the late 1960's and put out several obscure singles including "Upstairs Boogie"; this was her first full-length album, on the tiny Living Waters label. Jordan wrote or co-wrote all of the songs -- highlights include the Funk-Gospel track "God's Calling" and the half-sung/spoken word "The Lord Is Righteous" with eerie synthesizer, but the whole record is uniformly strong. Would certainly appeal to fans of Modern Soul and Deep Soul, no matter what your religious affiliation. An extremely hard record to find -- almost never comes up for sale.
