RETARDED CHILDREN radio LP: FRANK SINATRA-PRES. JOHN F. KENNEDY, Stanwyck, 1961

This 12-inch 33 rpm record from the National Association For Retarded Children, Inc., is entitled THE FRANK SINATRA SHOW with PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY on Side 2 and CELEBRITY RADIO SPOTS on Side 1. Side 2 features comments by Sinatra, several songs by Sinatra and orchestra, including Come Rain or Come Shine, You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Loves You, Pocketful of Miracles, That’s America to Me, and others and a message spoken by JFK about a panel he intends to form “to prescribe a program in the field of mental retardation.” (This panel was announced in October 1961 in the press.) Also included are a boy playing slide whistle and words from his parents. Total length of side 2 is 28:42. Side 1 features 12 radio spots of from 27 to 59 seconds in length by Carol Lawrence, Art Linkletter, Pamela Mason, Diane McBain, Frank Sinatra and Barbara Stanwyck urging support for the National Association For Retarded Children. (Note: these spots are in separate bands on the record and do not play continuously from one to the next so that the needle must be picked up and placed at the beginning of each spot.) The record is labeled Record 2, Sides 1 and 2, with numbers AT-1234 and AT-1235. The record has scratches and scuffs and  plays with noise (G) but it plays through without skipping.
