Description
One of only 1000 discs issued under the original Ralph logo, "Fingerprince" by the RESIDENTS, was first pressed in December of 1976, #RR 1276. It was realized due to "a large amount of material ... written as an outgrowth of the unreleased second album. At last, some of these songs are recorded showing the strength of the Residents as composers ...". Side One features "eight samples of the Residents working in shorter complete song structures as opposed to their better known 'train of consciousness' format". Side Two called "Six Things to a Cycle" was "written as a ballet". From the liner notes: "The plot concerns how man, represented as a primitive humanoid, is consumed by his self-created environment only to be replaced by a newer creature, still primitive, still faulty, but destined to rule the world just as poorly". Cover is in excellent to near mint condition, and protected by a plastic outer sleeve. Some discoloration at the top right corner, and a small dimple on back of jacket. Vinyl is in mint condition. Also includes a folded, 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper addressed to Ralph's Friends, 444 Grove Street, San Francisco, CA - meant for listeners who are "weirdos we have known", inviting them to write in to be on the Ralph mailing list. One note: on the sheet, "weirdo" is misspelled as "wierdo" - an obvious typo, which was later corrected; i.e. The Residents' Official Fan Club called W.E.I.R.D.
