Please note: for proper balances on playback, all 2-track tapes must be played on a 2-track machine. Playback on a 4-track machine will not give even weight to the channels and may not be satisfactory.

This recording was originally issued on LP in mono only in late 1956, and was not available in stereo on LP until April of 1959. By February of 1962, though its prefix and number (LSC-2068) had not been changed, it had been squeezed together on one LP with Rubinstein’s recording of the Liszt 1st Concerto (which was with Wallenstein, not Reiner). The first reference I have found to this 2-track tape comes in the RCA Tape Catalog dated July 1957, so it was the first issue of this recording in stereo.

The tape is in excellent condition; the box shows only very minor shelf wear.
