Description
Up for sale is the reggae 12 inch EP, "Ruby" on Disco 45 Records, pressed in Jamaica, (no record number), 1979, songs by Father Richard Ho Lung, vocals by Ernest Wilson and Richard Kirkwood.
Also included is a program for the play.
This record has songs from the play "Ruby," written by Father Richard Ho Lung, who founded Friends of the Poor in Jamaica and heads it to this day. In 1979 he was a priest who worked with the street poor of Jamaica and wrote this play and the songs as a fund raiser.
The record tracks are:
- The Lord is My Shepherd, vocals by renowned Jamaican singer Ernest Wilson
- God and Caesar, vocals by Richard Kirkwood
- Babylon Catch Me, vocals by Ernest Wilson (this is a different version of the song originally released a couple years earlier and is an equally fantastic version)
Visually graded VG. There are some lines and scrapes that might affect play. I played some parts of record and got no skips or any distracting static. Labels are deep groove with some paper cracking around deep groove area. Labels are otherwise clean and unmarked. Album cover has wear on bottom seam and some creasing and record wear. No splits.
The program for the play is 24 pages. There is no theatre specified on the program. The cast (see picture) included Richard Ace. The program is in good condition with exception of a coffee ring stain on front cover and some numbers written in ballpoint on the back cover. Inside pages are clean.
U.S SHIPPING ONLY. I will consider international shipping at a future date, but right now U.S. BIDDERS ONLY.
