Orig. KING JAMMY'S Jamaican Sound-System DUBPLATE (Orig 10")
Wicked Specials cut for 'Gravel-Love' Sound System out of Drewsland, Kingston featuring Horace Andy & Bounty Killer on almighty Dancehall riddims better known as 'The General' as used by Buju Banton on 'Massa God World A Run', The Original Studio 1 'Reel Rock' riddim built by the Soul Vendors & 'Skylarking' riddim built by King Jammies.
Track 1- Can't Cross The Border- One Pint - Wicked Sound-Clashing 'Special' from One Pint utilizing the original 'General' riddim built at Channel One in the 70's for Mighty Diamonds, then used by Barrington Levi & Little John to name but a few in the early 80's before re-surfacing with Buju's 'Massa God World a Run' from early 90's. Lyrics utilize Sugar Minott's 'Can't Cross The Border' as well as Half Pint's 'Greetings' in a 'Special' style for 'Gravel-Love'. Plays strong at VG- & does not jump or stick.
Track 2- Pure Ranking - Horace Andy & Bounty Killer- Wicked 'Special' name calling 'Gravel-Love' & name-checking garrison communities of Kingston, re-working Horace's lyrics for Carlton Patterson label 'Pure Ranking' from late 70's. Plays strong at VG- & even better at VG is surface is sprayed with distilled water whilst playing. Does not jump or stick.
Track 3- Skylarking - Horace Andy & Bounty Killer - Special re-working Horace's famous hit for Studio 1- KING JAMMY Style- Sound-Clash Style. Plays VG- & even better at VG if sprayed with distilled water whilst playing. Does not jump or stick.
Track 4- Acetate has split- so damaged.
This Dubplate at a guess was cut late 80's/early 90's & captures the very essense & spirit of Jamaican Sound-System Dancehall Dubs-featuring as it does NAME-BRAND Artistes, NAME BRAND Riddims & a NAME BRAND Studio at work to create
the ULTIMATE IN DANCEHALL ENTERTAINMENT- "Yard & Broad" Style.
Resplendent in an original 'KING JAMMY' Dub Sleeve which is grubby & worn through general wear & tear.
'TOP ON THE LINE' DUBPLATE PRESSURE.

GRADING:
MINT = unplayed ex-shop stock.
EX = almost mint except for possible light usage,or marking on label.No marks on vinyl.
VG = minimal marks,no reduction in sound quality at all.
VG- =very clean sound quality,but marks to vinyl and possible light scratches.(this is by far the most common condition of my records and proves wholly satisfactory to customers).
G+/VG- = more than acceptable playing condition,label likely to be worn or marked.
G+ = noisy-but music still appreciable.
G/G- = rough condition,noisy,could be scratched or have hiss but of great interest for historical content.
OTHER ABBREVIATIONS USED;
BLANK = original first pressing of tune given to sound system operators to play before the record was given a label and made available in the shops for the general public.
LD = label damage.
CD = Cover Damage(applicable to LP’s).
Please note: most records i sell are ex sound system copies and often have sound man markings on the labels.
