Description

Randy Weston "Cole Porter in a Modern Mood" (Riverside, RLP 2508, U.S., 1955) 

A rare jazz 10" on Riverside. Randy Weston, with Sam Gill, reworks 8 Porter tunes. Sleeve is VG or VG-; Record is VG to VG+. Details: sleeve has a split at the left seam, tape ghosts at that edge, tape at the top edge protecting against the expansion of a very minor split, rubbing to the still-solid bottom edge, mild soiling to the front, ring soiling to the rear; Paul Bacon cover cartoon still attractive, liner notes quite legible; sleeve feels quite solid;; grooved labels have some light soiling, nothing worse (images below);; some needle mark and scuff to both sides, nothing too deep;; playback has mild to moderate static and a handful of soft clicks and pops - quite enjoyable but no longer audiophile quality.
