All records come with a complimentary poly outer protective sleeve and in any case where the inner sleeve is missing, a generic sleeve will be provided. If the inner sleeve is present, but in too poor of shape to serve its purpose, it will still come included in addition to a fresh inner sleeve.. This bootleg is well known by most passionate Beach Boys fans, as it's one of the first known releases of the unreleased 1977 Beach Boys album which was meant as the follow-up to Love You. This bootleg's cover art has sort of been adopted as the official unofficial artwork for the album by Beach Boys fans, due to how well the music on the album matches the nutty image of Brian on the front.
Extremely rare and sought after album. Looks like it has never been played. Conservatively, record and sleeve are both NEAR MINT-  Please refer to detailed photos.

In the tradition of the acclaimed Landlocked LP we proudly present yet another previously unreleased album in its entirety, along with five bonus tracks thrown in for good measure. Predominantly the work of Brian, Adult Child represents a spate of songwriting activity during 1976-1977, a period when he was beginning to reassemble the pieces of his life and venture back into the limelight after an unproductive hiatus spent locked in his room staring at the ceiling (or so we've been told). Much of the music on this disc is not at all typical of what you have come to expect from this group, no doubt a contributing factor to its being shelved by Mo's record company when submitted for release eight years ago. The album's nonconformity to the group's usual style is abundantly apparent in the lead-off track, "Life Is For The Living". Lyrically, it's an anthem for Brian's own recovery, a quirky high-spirited bit of self-analysis. But it's the music that might jar your attention. An upbeat, forties-style swing piece complete with horns and a full-blown arrangement the likes of which one would expect to find on an old Sinatra album. We hate to have to point this out, but for the next song on the album we venture into the realm of insipidness. "Hey Little Tomboy" is a truly lame excursion. Incredibly, of all the songs in this collection, only this one and the public domain "Shortenin' Bread" were subsequently re-recorded and officially released. Mike and Brian share the lead vocal chores on this piece of fluff, which, unlike the M.I.U. Album version is peppered with spoken interludes along the lines of "Okay, now, shave your legs now for your first time". Yikes, it borders on being perverse! For the Nino Tempo/April Stevens classic "Deep Purple", Brian had Dick Reynolds do the orchestral arrangements. Dick had previously performed this duty on the group's Christmas Album. His charts were also used on this LP for the songs "Life Is For The Living", "Still I Dream Of It", and "It's Over Now". A fluttering flute adds a gentle highlight as Brian croons the song in a less coarse and more clearly defined voice. "H.E.L.P. Is On The Way" (in a considerably altered mix) had previously been slated to appear on the ill-fated Landlocked album. Carl handles the vocal (shared in one spot by Marylin Wilson) on "It's Over Now", a wistful romantic ballad with a warm melody and lyrics that defied the cute but banal phrasing of other more extemporaneous work from this period. This chronicler particularly likes the line "I'll put a Frank Sinatra album on and cry my blues away." I know it isn't rock 'n' roll but I like it, to paraphrase that English guy with the big lips. Carl sings lead again on "Everybody Wants To Live", another personal statement from Brian. This track closed side one of the original Adult Child. We like to give you your money's worth so we've grafted three bonus tunes onto the side. They are all cover versions. "Mony Mony" was, of course, first made famous by Tommy James. Young upstart Billy Idol more recently scored big with it. Dion DiMucci first sang of "Ruby Baby". Now it's Brian's turn. The boys pay homage to the legendary Phil Spector with their version of "Be My Baby", with Mike on lead nasal. We've sandwiched the original line-up of side two of Adult Child between two more bonus cover tunes. A hat-tip again to Phil Spector: "You've Lost That Lovin- Feelin'" is given tonsil treatment by Brian. "Shortenin' Bread" (the early version included here) was slated as the opening track of the original Adult Child's second side. A rerecorded version eventually found its way on to the Light Album. "Lines" is next. Given Brian's well-known proclivities, one might suspect from the title that the song is about the kinds of lines that get snorted up one's nose. Nay, José, it's about other kinds of lines entirely. Alan gets his turn to sing lead on "On Broadway". Yep, it's the old Drifter's hit. Brian fills us in on "Games Two Can Play". Next, Dennis is up at the bat, vocalizing "It's Trying To Say " (a.k.a. "Baseball"). Up at bat. Baseball. Get it? Adult Child's original closer, "Still I Dream Of It", was a personal song that Brian felt strongly about. The lyrics convey the gentle spirit of an adult who will not give up the emotions of his youth. (Hey, somebody might be able to come up with an album title based on that concept). Frank Sinatra gets his name mentioned now for the third and final time in these notes because Brian offered this song to him. The famous spaghetti-bender never responded to the offer. This album closes with the group's version of Neil Sedaka's "Calendar Girl". Mike eventually recorded an even more over-produced rendition of this song for inclusion on one of his solo albums. Well, that about covers it. Slide this record onto your turntable platter and prepare to hear some different kinds of sounds than those you've been accustomed to hearing from the group you've known for all these many years.

LP Grading Definitions  
Mint (M) = Still sealed, brand new item. 
Near Mint (NM or M-) = Record appears to be pristine. No scuffs, scratches, or wear of any kind.  
Very Good Plus (VG+) = Very clean copy, little to no surface noise, slight paper scuffs, light scratches that do not greatly affect play. Any surface noise should be minimal or natural and only be heard in quiet passages or dead wax. 
Very Good (VG) = Record has scuffs and light scratches all over, but none that cause the record to skip. 
Very Good Minus (VG-) = Player copy, more pronounced scuffs or light scratches that may or may not affect play, but do not overpower the music. Music should still be listenable, any surface noise should be subtle. 
Good (G) = Covered in scratches, some can be felt with a fingernail. visible at every angle. May *Pop or *Tick, throughout, overwhelming the music, but will still play through without skipping. 

“Feelers”: Feelers are defined as scratches on the record which can be physically felt with your finger. Feelers may or may not affect play through but will always be noted if found. Be confident that I have thoroughly inspected every record.
