Special note to foreign bidders: I declare foreign shipments as merchandise with the value you bid for them. Shipment to foreign buyers is via priority mail international with insurance for the value bid. Please e-mail for shipping costs before bidding as this method costs more, but is insurable and trackable. Example: United Kingdom 1-2 pounds $29.75 + $1.85 box/tape/pack = $31.60.
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Feedback/bidding policy: I check feedback daily and will return feedback promptly. Although I go to great lengths to accurately describe my items, if you feel the merchandise is not as described, e-mail me BEFORE leaving feedback and we will resolve it. Please note I do allow returns (see return policy below).

Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring Randy Holden, former lead guitarist of Blue Cheer, The Other Half and The Sons of Adam. Other musicians on this LP:

  1. Drums: Chris Lockheed, formerly of Kak.
I'm unable to determine if this is the original which books at $200 in Near Mint condition according to the price guide I use, or a repro which has also recently sold for $40 on e-bay. It doesn't have the typical "R" in the record#, so I'm inclined to think it is the original, but I'll leave that up to you. Other ebayers, please e-mail if you know! Thanks in advance.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, the item retains the original shine with only a few light imperfections, apparently sleeve marks.
I did take the time to play this disc and found the six tracks to audibly average better than 3/4 of the way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint. Rarely do records play this well. You can assign your own grade based on my comments below.
So this is your chance to own a unique item at a reasonable price.

It is further described below, please take the time to read before bidding.

Please e-mail if questions.

Be sure to check my other listings to save postage on multiple winning bids. Please explore the "Me" link above(next to feedback rating) to check out my store and some of the 15,000+ records / books / CD's / cassettes I have for sale as well as the LP to CD transfer service I offer.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Randy Holden Title: Population II Record: Black vinyl with original shine and a few light imperfections. Labels: Mostly green with black print. No pen/pencil marks, no stickers, no spindle marks. Small punch hole. Trailing wax: Side 1: "6-137-1-D stereo". Side 2: "6-138-1-D Stereo". Inner sleeve: A generic, white sleeve with some folds on the corners. In fine shape. Cover: One small punch hole slightly below center. This hole also appears on the label. Corners slightly to moderately worn. Upper outer corner with creases on the tip. Slight/moderate general/ring wear front/back. No stickers, no seam splits, no pen/pencil marks. Rate the cover VG to VG+(excellent), closer to VG. Comments: I found the six tracks to audibly average better than 3/4 of the way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint. You can assign your own grade based on my comments below. An excellent addition to your psych / guitar collection. This guy somewhat reminded me of Jimi Hendrix. I doubt you will find one at this price that plays better than this one. Side 1: Comments: Guitar Song Up to a very, very light surface noise (3.7) Fruit & Iceburgs Up to a very, very light surface noise (3.8) Between Time Up to a very, very light surface noise (3.8) Fruit & Iceburgs (conclusion) Up to a very, very light surface noise(3.8) Side 2: Comments: Blue my mind Up to a very, very light surface noise (3.65) Keeper of my flame Up to a very, very light surface noise (3.8)

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

  • NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
  • 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
  • 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
  • VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
  • VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
  • G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship Lp's in 14"x14"x6" boxes padded in styrofoam. Weight with box is about 1 pound 9 oz. Shipping is: $2.77 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $1.70 box/tape/packing + $.80 delivery confirmation = $5.30.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $5.30. This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online. Outside U.S., e-mail location to determine S/H costs prior to auction end. Insurance / other methods of shipping cost extra. Payment received within ten days of auction ending. Payment via Paypal preferred.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the bidding!
