This listing is for a Truly ODD LP from 1966. This was for announcements for Voices Of Vista and there are 3 segments on side 1 of this LP by Billy Joe Royal performing "Campfire Girls", Ronnie Spector of The Ronettes performing (what I believe to be the Song Title) "Lover", and Tommy James and The Shondells performing "Say I Am". Just to be clear this is NOT the song "(Let's Be) Lovers" that appeared on the 1970s Phil Spector Rare Masters LP and this is NOT the later recording Ronnie Spector did for Buddah titled "Lover, Lover", this is something Totally Different from those 2 tracks. The flip side of the LP is Freddie Martin. Each segment's host is Herb Oscar Anderson. Ronnie introduces herself, then Herb Oscar Anderson. Herb then goes into a script for volunteers for Vista, then introduces The Ronettes and "Lover" is played. This appears to be just Ronnie singing as I don't hear any background vocals. Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound is backing her up, echo and all, somewhat in the way the Ronettes version of "What I Say" sounded with the orchestra backing the vocal(s) up. This sounds like it was "POSSIBLY" an impromptu session as during the song Ronnie calls out something to the effect "play it Barney", which is probably Barney Kessel the guitarist. I couldn't find any info on this recording or song and am at a loss and this track may not have been commercially released. If you're a Phil Spector, Ronnie Spector or Ronettes fan you may want this to complete your collection. The Record is in Mint- Condition. On side 2 there is a very light ball point pen squiggle mark through Freddie Martin's name. There is NO Cover to this as when I found it at a radio station back in the 1970s, these discs only were in plain paper sleeve.
